Finding the Right Fit

A home that suits the way you live.

Whether you are buying your first home, moving closer to family, or trading the city for the lake, I start by listening. What do you need, where would you like to be, and what matters most to you?

Buying outside of town brings its own questions too: wells, septic systems, shorelines and road access. I’ve spent my career learning how these work in our area, and I’ll walk you through each one.

I Understand, Listen and Deliver!

How I’ll Help You Buy

1

We start with a conversation

We talk about what you need, where you would like to be, your timing and your budget.

2

Arrange your financing

Speak with a lender or mortgage broker early so you know your price range. I’m glad to suggest people I trust.

3

See the homes

I’ll send you new MLS® listings as they come out, book your showings and tell you what I know about each property.

4

Make an offer

We look at recent comparable sales together and write an offer with conditions that suit your situation.

5

Inspection to keys

I stay in touch with your lawyer, lender and inspector, and with you, right up to the day you get the keys.

Country and Waterfront

What we check before you buy

  • Well water. Flow and water quality testing.
  • Septic systems. Age, condition and inspection.
  • Shorelines. Who owns the shore road allowance, and what that means for docks and boathouses.
  • Road access. Municipal, private or seasonally maintained.
  • Zoning and permits. Confirmed with the township and the Conservation Authority.

Moving to Lakefield

From the city to the village

Lakefield sits on the Otonabee River, with the Trent-Severn Waterway running right through the village. It is about 15 minutes north of Peterborough and roughly two hours from Toronto.

Lakefield is the only community in Selwyn Township on municipal water and sewer. Around the village you’ll find older brick and frame homes, newer subdivisions, and country properties a short drive away. Whether you are moving from the city or finding your way back home, I’d be glad to show you around.
